3:54 pm - Frankenstein vs. The Bible
|
Mary Shelley’s classic horror novel, Frankenstein, utilizes allusions that reference to the Bible. Dr. Frankenstein, the creator of the monster, can be considered a parallel to God while his creation, the Creature, can be seen as Adam (the first man) or even the fallen angel Lucifer.
Dr. Frankenstein has a mission. His mission is to defy nature itself and bring the dead back to life. The doctor manages to complete this seemingly impossible task and create what is known as the “Creature”. This being, with “yellow skin scarcely covering the work of muscles and arteries beneath” (chapter 5) and “lustrous black, and flowing” hair (chapter five), seemed beautiful and amazing to its creator in the beginning. However, this soon changes as the monster is exposed to a cruel society that is determined to destroy him. Frankenstein, much like God, did not exemplify to his creation on how to comprehend the world. The monster, much like Adam, is the first and only of its kind, lonely, and impressionable.
The Creature, out of anger and spite towards its creator and its surroundings, begins to murder people as a way to take revenge. This can be seen as a reflection of Adam, from the Bible. Both Adam and the monster plunge from innocence by doing a grave wrong in order to satisfy themselves (though the circumstances of their reasoning differs slightly). Frankenstein, like God, rejects his creation’s pleas to listen to his side of the story and condemns him. The daemon itself answers “I am thy creature: I ought to be thy Adam, but I am rather the fallen angel, whom thou drivest from joy for no misdeed." (chapter 10). By saying this, the creature means that, like Adam, he was meant to be a new and perfect being but, due to a tragedy that was not entirely his fault, he fell from grace.
In saying “I am rather the fallen angel, whom thou drivest from joy for no misdeed,” the monster compares himself to Lucifer. Just like Lucifer, he plummets from glory and all that is good to a sad, dark end full of “toil and misery” (chapter 20). Both Satan and the monster are hated, feared, and banished by all and gain power when bringing gloom and wretchedness to others. As revenge, the creature does not shy away from massacring, without remorse, the loved ones of his “God”, Frankenstein. This can be seen as an echo of Lucifer’s rebellion to his own god.
At the time this novel was written, religion played an important role in society. When Mary Shelley (like many other authors of the time) linked Frankenstein to God and the Creature to Adam and Lucifer, she wanted to create an easy way for people to understand not just her story, but also the differences between good and evil. She shows that God can be just as vulnerable as man (man, in this case, the Creature, can hurt and disappoint God, in this case, the doctor). Mankind, who strives to be perfect, is seen as less than perfect by their creator. Thus, when Man makes mistakes, they pull away from God (just like when the monster decides to exile himself at the end of the novel), declaring that “God has abandoned them”. This can make way for the question: is Shelley mocking God? Or is she simply stating the vulnerability of Mankind?

6:33 pm - People are Funny
|
I think I'm going to write journals more often. Ideally anyways.
The other day, my dad and I were driving in the convertible. We had just left our street when we came across a chipmunk, standing in the middle of the road. My dad drove closer to it, and then it suddenly bolted off.
"It looks so stupid when it runs, " my dear papa stated.
"Huh? You mean the chipmunk?" I asked, waking up from my daydreams.
"Yeah. I mean, look at them. they have their tails in the air and everything. I bet that if they saw themselves in the mirror, they'd realize how stupid they look and they'd say, 'Okay, I better run properly now...'"
In the meantime, I was lmao, "Dad, you're so weird."
"They run like girls. They need to learn how to be a man," my dad was still ranting, even though we were on a different street by that time.
"Maybe it was a girl chipmunk," I argued.
"No," was my dad's final reply.
I let out a noisy sigh before complaining about the radio station.
Part 2:
Ugh. I hate English class. I feel invisible whenever I'm there. The teacher never notices me, even if I raise my hand. If I talk out loud in class, the teacher can never find me. And she makes it really obvious who her favourites are. I kind of stopped participating in class because of it and I only half pay attention lol My favourite class basically turned into my least favourite...

3:52 pm - Long Time No See
|
Wow, I haven't been on here for a while. The end of term is coming closer and I've been getting a ton of homework, assignments, tests, quizzes, and anything in between. Here's a bunch of things that happened since I last posted:
1) My birthday passed on November 4th.
2) This was the first year that anyone prepoerly decorated my locker on m birthday. One of my best friends even bought a Reese-flavoured chapstick and window writers!!! Even people who I normally didn't talk to decorated my locker. The people who were my really close friends since grade 7 didn't even notice that it was my birthday.
3) Due dates for projects and tests and presentations were extended.
4) My science class has a student teacher who comes in every Thursday and Friday. I was really hyper and I went to tell my science teacher and the student teacher that the green tea that I always drank had a pH of 2 or 3 and that it was worse for my teeth than sugar. The 3 of us were laughing and the student teacher suggested that I drink from a straw (which I've been doing since then). The next week at the end of class, he disappeared into one of the backrooms and came out with a paper for me. He researched the pH of stomach acid and actually HIGHLIGHTED IT. He's dedicated.
5) I don't think my English/French teacher hates me.
6) My math teacher probably thinks I'm stupid.
7) I've joined Digital Journal.
8) I'm working on a new digital picture of some one but I'm not saying who... I'll upload it in about a week on Deviant Art.
9) I still can't find Rentrer en Soi's "Binetsu shita de shajitsu shita shinsou ha atesaki fumei no tegami to naru" That's probably the longest song title EVER. If anyone wants to get me a belated birthday present, I'd LOVE to have the roumaji lyrics.
10) I've rediscovered my fangirlness for Adrien Brody with my "Oxygen" friend
11) I bought 2 DVDs with MY OWN MONEY
12) I got some really funny Psycho le Cemu clips
13) I'm now a fan of Dr. Who

1:45 am - Yay, Nay, and Muffin-Sex o_O
|
I’ve been so busy finishing projects, assignments, and homework and studying for tests that I haven’t been able to write an entry for over a week! Shame on me!
The highlights of my week were:
The Weekend
This past weekend, I went straight from Classics Club after school to Saunders’ Farm with six other friends. I carpooled with one on my friends on the way there and I ate three lollipops and the paper sticks because I didn’t feel like throwing them out. We went on the haunted hayride which was a bit disappointing because it wasn’t as scary as the previous years (there were less special effects and whatever they had weren’t very scary). There were two 10 year old boys who were sitting next to me and they always were surprised or scared at what they saw so they were half sitting on me most of the time. Ewww. One of my friends (who gets scared very easily) fell off the bench on the wagon because she was terrified of something or other. In the haunted house, I was at the front of our small procession with the girl I carpooled with and I would randomly scream because I knew that I would scare the girl who gets frightened easily (mission accomplished!). The funny thing was that the first time I screamed, I made my partner in crime (the carpool girl) jump about a foot and she screamed because I scared her! Muahahahaha I’m so evil.
We also went through some mazes. One was the usual hedge maze. Our group broke up into groups of two or three. Carpool Girl and I started following the paths and then we got bored to we decided to take a few shortcuts through the hedges. Something similar happened through the cornfield maze except that we both purposely “got lost” and we somehow managed to get to the far end of the corn field which led to another field and a forest. We practiced Kung Fu moves on various corn stalks and avoided creepy clearing because that’s where creepy people hide. One of my friends got lost and was by herself but after a while, she made her way out. It was practically sun-down when we were finished the mazes and some security dudes stopped us and told us that we shouldn’t be there after dark and they questioned us and stuff.
We were getting tired and bored so everyone went to sit down in this restaurant thing but my friend and I wanted to walk around a bit. Of course, this other – friend – who claimed that she was too tired decided to tag along. It was raining and I wasn’t wearing my jacket because I love the feel of rain on me. We saw a fire eater/breathing dude. There was this dude with a long studded leather trench coat who had a “pet” (a guy wearing some sort of ghoulish costume with a weird mask. My two friends dared my to do this creepy-provocative shoulder squeeze to him. He turned around and his pose made me think that he wanted to yell “What the hell?!” his shoulders were hard because of padding so I poked his back and I think I really annoyed him.
Next, we met the leather jacket dude and found out his name was Vincent. One of my friends introduced herself as Joe and the tag-a-long introduced herself as Steve (I used to call everything Steve and now she claims that she did that. God I hate copy-cats). Of course, I introduced myself as Spider (I’ve been reading too much Transmetropolitan haha) and he shook me hand and said that he was very pleased to meet me!
After that, I slept over at one of my friend’s houses (the one who gets scared easily) with Carpool Girl. Sleepover Girl had really hurt her arm during Phys. Ed. And she needed help changing. Carpool Girl had already helped Sleepover Girl get changed earlier so it was my turn. Unfortunately, when I was taking off her shirt, it got stuck so I pulled it up harder and her boobs popped out of her bra and Carpool Girl saw it and now she’s scarred for life. We ate Middle-Eastern food at almost midnight because we were hungry.
The three of us went to school for Classics Club on Saturday. On Sunday, I went to another friend’s birthday which was at the arcade. Together, Sleepover Girl and I won almost 200 tickets! W00t. I was the only person to give Birthday Girl a non-giftcard present (I gave her a funky chain and shell necklace which she LOVES).
I got my mid-term report card today. I got three B’s and four A’s. It’s lower than my usual average. My lower marks were in Phys. Ed. (my teacher hates me), Latin (I think I failed my quiz…), and Math. Math is surprising but my teacher is a really hard marker. I got the Latin award last year. I’m still in shock that I got an A in French because I think I really suck at French (even though I went to France for a two week exchange and that the family I stayed with didn’t know any English).
Today, my science/chemistry teacher actually came up to me before school and told me something that kept me from jumping off the school balcony today. He said that he totally loved this plant lab I did. My experiment was to see if plants grow faster with classical or rock music. Classical music won of course. I also managed to relate it to the brain. But my teacher loved my project because it was something that he was unfamiliar with so it was new to him. And he kept talking to me about it and he was excited. It’s funny because when he gets excited about something, he kind of jumps up and down. And he’s shorter than me.
My French/English teacher knew how stressed out we were this week so she gave us a free period in French class and she let us watch a (really good) movie. And we could do whatever we wanted as long as we didn’t disturb anyone who watched the movie.
^ I made this during French class ^

7:15 pm - Losing Marbles
|
It's amazing how the world seems to completely change after being away for only 3 days.
I went to Quebec City with most of my grade. There were 39 students, 4 teachers, and a creeepy and annoying tourguide named Guy. His name is pronounced the French way so it's more like "g-ee". My parents and I often make fun of that name and I couldn't actually believe that someone actually possessed a name like that.
It was fun. There were about 4 students per room (except for one group of 3). We stayed at the Palace Royal, in suites. There was an actual bed in the bedroom and I showed the rest of my "roomies" that the couch was a pull-out bed. There were 2 TVs, one in the bedroom and one in the "living room/family room", or where the couch was. Some of the rooms had balconies that overlooked the pool area which looked nice and tropical but my room didn't have a balcony. My floor did, however, have a public balcony.
My 3 other roomates brought a shitload of candy, chocolate, chips, banana chips, and Gatorade (yellow). We were pretty much sugar high the whole time from the 5 hour plus buss ride to 2:00 am in the morning to the actual trip itself. I didn't bring candy but I brought three large make-up kits of, well, you guessed it, make up. I probably had every colour imaginable including gold, brown, black, white, silver, a million shades of grey, pink, purple, blue, green, and any other colour I didn't mention. Except for yellow. I've never worn or seen anyone wear yellow make-up. I don't even know if they manufacture it.
We had a tour of Quebec City with tourguides and a professional photographer took a group photo(I thought he was some random dude until we got the professional photographs back home. We visited countless churches and streets, went shopping, got in fellow tourists pictures, rand uphil and downhill, learned how to shoot a musket, learned how to shoot a cannon, and tried to be punctual. We visited restaurants that served food that we could barely hold in our stomachs, endured the corny an retarded jokes of our not-so-funny-as-he-thinks-he-is tourguide, and watched probably the most boring 3D film ever made that used real water for not just a water fall but rainfall and snowscenes. We watched this movie with a bunch of freaky Quebecois high school students who had half a billion peircings and the worst fashion sense under the sun. Even a jpop artist dresses better XD
All in all though, it was a blast. My friends and I had so much fun. There were only two downfalls:
1. I lost one of my BRAND NEW rechargeable batteries. My dad had gotten them for me, with a charger thing, only a day or two before the trip. On the last day, I was putting one back in my camera in the bedroom of the suite. One of the batteries fell and I spent almost an hour searching for it. I looked under the bed, in the bathroom and the washroom, in the living room thing, under the couch, and I even dug through the totally gross, salsa drenched garbage can. It was no where to be seen. My other roommates didn’t bother helping me look. They were more obsessed with having their picture in front of the suite’s door number (which was 301 by the way). The only person who helped me look was my closest friend at school. She wasn’t even my roommate. She just randomly popped on over and I told her my problem and she helped. She even left her stuff up in her room and she didn’t even have the room key. How nice is that?
2. That same day, while I was putting on my contacts, one fell down the drain. I’ve worn that particular one for over 3 months so the colour on it was almost completely gone (I wear coloured contacts). It looked cool because the other contact on my right eye was newer and still had most of the colour left on it so my eyes were two different colours. Since I didn’t bring any extra pairs and I didn’t want to wear my glasses (the paint’s coming off of them and their crooked), I decided to walk around the whole day wearing only one contact. If I closed or blocked the eye with the contact, it was blurry and if I blocked or closed the other one, it was crystal clear. When both were open, it felt like I was constantly walking through a 3D film. You know, those 3D glasses that you wear? It was kind of cool. Everything looked more three-dimensional than usual and almost everything was pretty clear and not blurry. The only thing I had trouble with was reading. I’d have to close or block the blurry eye to read. Everyone said that I would get a headache because that’s what happens if you only wear one contact but that didn’t happen to me, thankfully. I was just hungrier than usual if anything.
This morning, my parents dragged me to church. I rarely go. Maybe, five times a year, max. It was ok. It’s not like the Holy Water burned my face or anything. We went to the 9-something o’clock (am) mass instead of the 8-something o’clock (am) mass. So I got to sleep in an hour later AND the real pipe organ (not the cruddy electrical thing) played WHILE the choir sang! Also, the alter servers weren’t the usual creepy old men. One of them looked about my age, or a teenager anyhow, the other one looked like a preteen, and the youngest was a kid, ten years old. My running shoes were abnormally squeaky and loud too. There was this one part during mass where some people were still kneeling after a random prayer thing while about a quarter of the church stood up (mainly non-seniors). I was one of the people who stood up and the three alter servers all stared at me.
It got better with the priest’s little speech (what is it called?). His speech was mainly about sex. And how important it was. He kept asking something like “What is the importance of sexual love?” and I really felt like shouting out “Too make babies!” but he always answered himself before I could blurt out anything. It was precious. He gave us a random flashback to his teenage years and he randomly talked about English class. He’s a pretty outgoing dude. Totally unlike the usual dry, boring priests. Except he needs to polish up his singing voice.
After mass, my parents and I drove to a bunch of small towns just outside of Ottawa like Almonte, Carleton Place, Clayton, Perth, and who knows where else. We basically went there for some sort of artisan tour. There was a lot of pottery and jewelry and paintings. There were even woodcarvers and carpenters and knitters and stuff. People in small towns are really friendly. Not only would the artisans say hi and talk to us but random people who walked by would smile and wave and ask how we’re doing. And almost every studio we visited had cookies and/or hot cider. Or hot cranberry cider. Even people’s pets were friendly. They didn’t jump up on you or anything. They’d run up to you and once everyone in your family pet them, they’d go away. I actually didn’t mind the dogs there (I’m a cat person).
Unfortunately, I don’t have anything to rant about this week but be prepared to here from me in a few days or a week :P
Happy Thanksgiving and Long Weekend. Don’t Drink and Drive.
The End.

10:15 pm - Another Chapter Done
|
My French exchange student left on Saturday. Two long weeks of eye-twitching madness have finally come to a close. Am I happy? No. I honestly don’t have an opinion. I am, however, sad that the other exchange students have left.
I’ll start off by talking about the 23rd of September. That wasn’t the Saturday that just past but the one before. Ok, so the first day I was in Toronto, we drove to Niagara Falls. So technically, I was in Niagara Falls but whatever XD. We went and saw the falls and I probably took more pictures than a Chinese tourist. Of course, my exchange student barely took any and when he did, he’d copy whatever I took. We brought him to a whole bunch of shops to buy souvenirs but he wasn’t interested in anything interesting, only little pointless dust-collectors. He didn’t even let us buy him an ice cream or a frozen yogurt from Yogen Fruz.
We brought him to a whole bunch of places and [my dad] took a whole bunch of pictures. I noticed that my exchange partner never smiles in photos. I, on the other hand, either do the biggest, fakest, smile I can or a silly face. We bought a whole lot of souvenirs.
When we got back to the hotel in Toronto, he spent a whole lot of time in the bathroom again. And, what’s even worse was that he left his underwear and socks on the floor. I hadn’t expected him to be wearing boxers but his underwear was a little bit larger than a thong. EWWWWW. He did that more than once this week. It was disgusting. I think he was expecting my mum or dad to pick them up after him like at his own house or something but luckily my dad came to the rescue and told him to scoop up his own poop, but in a nicer way, if you catch my drift.
The next day we spent in Toronto and we visited the Eaton’s Center (is that how it’s spelled?). Jeans are way cheaper her in Canada so my mum bought my exchange student a pair. And then she bought me some clothes. Lucky me. We then had lunch in a nice looking restaurant with crappy service in the mall. I had a turkey burger with cranberry mayo and sweet potato fries. I wasn’t too fussy about the burger but man, were those fries orgasmic. ^__^
We came back that night and all went pretty well. My exchange student spent forever in the washroom. I think it was on Tuesday where my dude spent even longer than usual in the washroom. As soon as we got home from school (he spent half the morning in the washroom at least), he locked himself in the washroom. After about an hour and a half, I called him down for dinner. He came downstairs and then locked himself in that washroom. What does he do in there?!
Another night, his dad called. He was speaking to my dad and then he asked to speak to my exchange partner (who was, of course, in the washroom). My dad lightly tapped on the door and told my exchange partner that his dad would like to speak to him. My dude opened his door a crack, just large enough to fit his hand through to get the phone. My dad thought that after a few minutes, he would come out and talk in his room. But no. My exchange partner was in the bathroom talking to his dad for about an hour when the toilet flushed. My dad and I were disgusted. Basically, my exchange partner was sitting on the toilet and having a crap while talking to his father. My dad and I were standing right outside the bathroom door and my dad was pretending to act it out, he was making constipation noises in between saying short phrases in French. I couldn’t stop laughing. After another twenty minutes or so, my partner opened the door a crack again and told my dad that his dad would like to talk to him. My dad grabbed it by the antenna. Before answering the phone, my dad took an old rag-towel and wiped it down. Then, he held the phone off his face, half a foot away. For the rest of the night, my dad made me answer the phone.
I told my piano teacher about these events and she “kindly” nicknamed my exchange partner “Bathroom Boy” but I think it looks better spelled “Bathroom Boi”. Not that it really matters.
The goodbye party was Friday night, after school. My friends/exchange partners and I were waiting for my friend whose bus was running late. The rest of the group left and we were forced to find one girl’s house on our own. My dad showed me how to get to her street that morning but she took a different route. So of course I get our little groupie lost. Including some other exchange students who decided to randomly join us. We tried flagging down cars for directions but they just ignored us. Finally one of my friends and I decided to knock on someone’s door and ask. Before we did, one of the exchange students said “Look, there’s a woman!” in French, only to be corrected that it was a pretty good looking teenage guy. So, I went up to him and said,
“Hey”
“Hey,” he replied, grinning at me. He had blond hair and blue eyes. Tall. Skinny. Shorts even though it’s autumn. He reminded me of a surfer bum. Totally not my type. Poor bloke.
“Can you please tell me how to get to Cloverdale?”
“Yeah, sure! ...” this is where he gave me directions. “You past it though. See that intersection way down there? Go to it and turn right. About ten meters in, there’ll be a street to your left.”
“Sweet deal! Thanks dude!”
And then I ran off and joined the group and told them where to go. The dude passed us and I thanked him again and he answered “No problem.” Nice guy. Too bad there aren’t more like him.
The party was fun. Of course, my exchange partner asked the dad where the washroom was. I told two of my closest friends and they laughed. We watched “Take the Lead”. I liked it until I saw the end and then I spazzed at the movie. For dinner, the meatballs my parents made in the “Memories of Singapore” sauce practically disappeared when it was set down. I love that sauce. In fact, I eat it on nearly everything. It tastes awesome on not only meat but salad too. We had a lot of fun and I took some random pictures.
The next day, 2 of my friends and I went shopping with our exchange partners. One of my friends brought 2 of her friends so we were a party of 8 (unless I can’t count). That same friend wanted to buy her partner a gift but he refused anything we offered. So finally, we settled on some candy from Place Bonbon (The Candy Place). We went to a drugstore to get some snacks for ourselves and our exchange students. I bought myself some gum and I asked my bipolar exchange student if he wanted anything. At first he said, “Yes, for the plane ride” (in French) but when I told him to choose whatever flavour he wants, he refused. That tard. XD
When we were at the airport that evening, I got hugs (and a few kisses) from almost all the exchange students. My partner didn’t even look at me or say goodbye. Just before he left, he walked right part my friends and I to give some other random girl a hug. I know that he couldn’t have mistaken her for me because
a) She was wearing pink and I rarely wear pink b) She had short, straight hair pulled back in a ponytail while mine was curly, long, and pulled down c) She was wearing one of those short tie-up sweaters while I was wearing a pinstripe suit d) I was standing by my friends that my exchange partner just spend the whole day with e) We lived with each other for 4 weeks total (basically a month). I think he’d know what I look like unless he’s blind or really stupid or something.
My friends gasped and the girl was shocked and everyone kind of shouted his name and I hope he realised what kind of fucked up thing he just did. He came over and hugged not just me, but my friends too.
I waved goodbye to everyone and said bye in English, French, Polish (one of the girls was Polish), and Japanese (one of the dudes knew some random Japanese or something). That same dude attempted to say bye in Chinese. I didn’t really try XD
And go fig, the dad called and said that my exchange partner had the time of his life and he loved it so much.
Another chapter of my life is finished.

11:05 pm - Fuck Jay-Z
|
Today was picture day. Aka the worst day of the year. I didn’t really do my hair any differently then usual. Well, maybe a little. Instead of the usual retarded messy blob of a bun, I did some kind of geisha-bun-hairstyle-pompadour-thing the night before. It made my curls look not as square as usual. I’m not joking when I say they’re square… instead of being nice curls or ringlets, they’re either triangular or square-shaped. It’s pretty screwed up. XD
I didn’t really do anything that different but after I walked out of the washroom stall to wash my hands, I glanced at the mirror and thought, “Who the hells is walking towards me?!” And then I remembered that that was a mirror and I was staring at my reflection. It shows how much I look in the mirror. I like that mirror. It makes me look skinnier than I really am.
This is the first week my exchange student is over. He’s from France. A small town less than an hour south of Paris, called Melun. At first I didn’t have much of an opinion of him, he was ok and everything I guess. He didn’t really talk to me in France but I thought it was because his parents were there and blah blah blah. But apparently not. When he came here, he still didn’t speak to me. He talks to all my friends and my parents (well, mostly my dad because my mum doesn’t really know that much French) but he almost NEVER talks to me.
Not last night, but the night before, I brought my partner dude to the movie theatre to see The Covenant with 2 other close friends of mine. It was an ok movie. I was a bit disappointed because it wasn’t as good as I expected it. I thought the dudes were average looking (although Pogue did have a rather sexy 12 pack ;) ) and the 2 main characters (Caleb and the girl) were annoying. But it was fun. One of my friends and I couldn’t stop laughing through it. It annoyed my other friend and my exchange partner didn’t even notice because he was really into the film.
When we got back from the movie, it was pretty late; almost 9:00 pm (or 21:00) and I like to take showers just before I go to bed. But my exchange partner has to apparently take showers too… well, he spent almost 2 and a half hours in the washroom. I don’t know what he did in there. He spent maybe only 20 minutes actually showering. By the time he came out, it was going on 11:00 pm. That’s 23:00. And all he said was “You can take your shower now” (but in French of course). I was pretty pissed but instead of saying “Fuck no” I said sweetly “Yes, thank you”. It was too late to take a shower but when I went to brush my teeth, there were small pieces of hair in the sink. And it wasn’t from when I last shaved because I clean the sink. Ewww. Imagine how gross that was. And the towel that I use to wipe the floor and the shower tiles after I shower was wet but it looked like he obviously did not wipe the shower down and it smelled like his soap (well, it smells really strong and the whole bathroom smells like it after he’s in there). The towel my parents set out for him was still dry.
Also, my partner eats really loudly. He doesn’t eat with his mouth open or anything but he chews really loudly and he swallows really loudly. No, he gulps. Same goes for drinking. It’s gross. I never heard anyone eat so loud with their mouth closed. It’s really unappetising XD
The one good thing about having him over, though, is that I’ve been going places that I normally wouldn’t be going to at this time of year. Or ever. And I get to miss school. So I guess that’s 2 things. For example:
- I’ve lived in Ottawa, Canada, all my life but I had never seen a hockey game or gone on the look-out by the Art Gallery. I used to think that hockey was stupid but my favourite team won and I was sitting in the Ottawa Citizen suite. And there’s going to be a game on my birthday, in Ottawa, and I really want to go :D - I missed a day of school to go to Montreal. We had a guided tour and we went to the Biodome. 2 of my friends and I were doing MASH to random people on the bus and apparently I’m going to marry one of my friends and one of my French friends. That dude and his friend are really funny and love pulling pranks on me and doing anything to make me laugh. I took a pic of the friend when he fell asleep on the bus ^_^ - I’m in Toronto and I’m going to go to Niagara Falls tomorrow. Of course I’ve been to moth places loads of times before, I never go just for a weekend. - When I was in France, I went Go-Carting for the first time and I crashed into the wall that was actually tires filled with water. The tires went flying everywhere and I got sprayed with gross brown water. It wouldn’t surprise my if it was actually watery poop XD And they filmed it T_T
And I can’t think of anything else to write. My friend thinks my blogs are boring :P

5:27 pm - First Week of School
|
Ok, so I just finished my first week of 10th grade. It was a weird week.
First of all, school started on a Tuesday but the very first day is counted as "Day 0" and you basically just meet your teachers and get course outlines and meet the students in your class, blahblahblah. Then, the next day was Wednesday and it was "Day 3". Seems like we skipped a few days, ne?
Anyhow we were assigned our lockers. I don't remember who I was next too but I didn't really want to be beside her (her locker was wide open and covering mine) but she did have the curtesy to tell me that my locker was "Right here". There was, however, a lock on it already and I knew it wasn't mine because I accidentally left mine at home. So, I asked one of my friends if I could leave my stuff in her locker and she said ok.
Later, 3 friends and I were at our lockers and I decided to just play around the lock on my locker while I was waiting for them to finish talking to my Latin teacher. I pulled on it but of course it was locked. So next I tried the combo of my lock that I left at home. It opened! I was like "OMGWTFBBQ" XD I tried the combo again and it didn't open and then I realised that 2 of the numbers were different. For examply, on this lock, it was 7 instead of 5 and 50 instead of 52 but really, it was super close.
I turned around and showed the now-opened lock to the teacher and my friends and told them what happened but they probably didn't believe me XD I opened the locker but there was a whole bunch of garbage at the bottom and I wasn't too keen on cleaning it up so I changed lockers to a totally different hallway that had spiffy turqouise lockers. I used my new-found lock to lock my stuff in. Another reason why I change hallways was that my locker was right outside the chem lab and even though I have a double period of science or chem there everyday and it would have been faster, it often smelled bad because of whatever experiment the last class did XD
Now that I have 2 locks and a whole bunch of empty lockers around me, I can store my winter coat and boots and gym bag in a different locker :D
I went back to homeroom and told them my story but I don't think anyone believed me XD
I thankfully didn't get too much homework this week. But since I'm lazy, I still haven't finished it XP
There's a girl in my homeroom who has the same piano teacher as me and we totally recognised each other from the concert I played "Crucify My Love" by Yoshiki/X-Japan at :D I don't remember what she played...
But she used to go to the high school I was supposed to go to and we both speak Polish. Now I have 2 friends at school who speak Polish. To bad I've forgotten most of mine... But getting back on topic, my both know some of the same people at her ex-school. Like this one guy that knows the coolest card tricks and magic tricks. It's pretty sweet. And we both don't like the same people. So it's all good XD
And then the dude that we both know knows some people who I used to be friends with and some of them are his friends. But some of them he never heard of... and he had no idea that I go to an all-girls school cuz he thought I went to a "normal school". He did the nicest thing too (besides inviting me and the other people we were volunteering with to have bubble tea with him and he was also going to give me a bus ticket)he asked the new girl to say "Hi!" to me for him ^_^
Another close friend I made at camp (we volunteered together) IMed me. We hadn't spoken in a while... for several weeks, almost a month. I was really happy to hear from her. She was really nice and funny. And she loved kids... totally unlike me XD Come to think of it... she still has the fuzzy hair scrunchie that I lent her. I guess I'll let her keep it :P
And yet another friend I made a friend with at camp (we volunteered together too) lives near me... and she goes to the school that my parents were thinking of sending me too. She's really cool though and we broke some rules together at camp... like running through the new Biology building at the university and down the "Authorised Personnel Only" staircase and using the vending machine and the elevator. Of course, those weren't anything super bad but at camp, they're strict about following rules. We're such rebels XD We were talking on MSN too. We're certainly not as close as the other girl and I but that's ok.
I've already been assigned a project at school. In science.
That reminds me of my science teacher... Every class this year at school has been given nail-polish remover because we're not allowed to wear really noticible/non-clear nail-polish. When the person came and gave it to our class, my science teacher wrote down the 2 possible chemical formulas for nail-polish remover and gave us this giant speech about it and the chemicals in it and stuff... it was really cute and I was trying not to laugh. He totally interrupted his lesson just to tell us that. XD
In English, we read "The House that Jack Built" and compared it to "The House that Crack Built". It was interesting.
Last night, I watched a movie with my mum. We decided to watch one that we hadn't seen in a while, aka years. So we watched "The Man in the Iron Mask" with Leonardo DiCaprio. It actually was a very good movie. I don't know why I used to hate it. DiCaprio reminds me of decapitated XD
I totally cleaned my bathroom and the downstairs washroom for next Saturday, when my French exchange student comes from France. I hope he enjoys Canada as much as I enjoyed France. My back and my legs and my shoulders hurt though. I cleaned everything (including the toilet and floor) with Mr. Clean and a rag. And gloves and a surgical face mask XD I cleaned the mirrors with Windex-ish stuff and paper towels. I was sitting on the counters ^_^ lol So now it's spotless and my mum claims that she's never seen the washrooms that clean before. Honestly, I don't think they look any different escept that the mirrors are totally clean. Oh well, let's just hope they won't get dirty before my partner comes or else I'll be mad and sad and un-chipper T_T
This week, during spare, one of my friends and I both had to agree that it was probably the first time that we were bored of our laptops and the internet. There was absolutely nothing to do for almost 2 hours. And LiveJournal is blocked at school along with probably a billion other sites like Gaia, not that I go on Gaia anyways. Some of the sites aren't blocked on Mozilla Firefox though. I don't know why. Well, I'm one of a really small group of people who use it at school anyhow. I like the tabs and the themes and the extensions and download screen thing. It seems like the teachers at school and my parents don't know about the tab idea so it can be really conveniant. And I like how I can pause downloads except that it never really works XD The themes are definately cool though because mine is aqua and black. I have an extension on my Firefox to make the internet go faster and it certainly works. I also have an extension that allows me to download YouTube movies, Google Videos, and just about any movies or videos to my computer. But shhhh, I didn't tell you that ;)
I can't think of anything else to write now, so I'll tune in next week to blab about my week and anything that's worthwile writing.
I totally wrote too much. XD
current mood: chipper
